The 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act states that employers must provide "such information, insruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health & Safety at work of their employees". The Management of Health & Safety Regulations 1999 states "every employer shall ensure that their employees are provided with adequate Health & Safety training".
* On them being recruited.
* On them being exposed to new or increased risks.
Training shall be repeated periodically where appropriate, shall be adequate to take into account new or increased risks and shall take place during working hours.
LOLER 98 Regulations govern all hydraulic equipment.
PUWER 98 Regulations 9 govergn training of employees and also states that supervisors and managers must be trained in the safe use of the equipment.
